Community
Our congregation has a desire to share God’s love, care and compassion with others in our community and beyond. Here are some of the ways in which we are involved in our community. Volunteering helps give us a sense of purpose as well as establish strong relationships with others. And you are welcome to take part too, just let us know in which way you would like to serve and we can connect you to the right people.
– We partner with other churches in the area to provide care and support for families in need. Members from multiple congregation join together to show love and service.
– We contribute a hot meal, typically once a year, to those who visit this outreach ministry.
– We welcome you to join us for a bowl of soup at Noon. The dates for the upcoming event can be found on our Community Calendar page. Click the link below to find the next date.
– Through The Open Door ministry our Church supports families each year at Christmas who are in need of some extra support.
– We fill empty shoeboxes to support men and women in Peel shelters who might otherwise not receive anything for Christmas. The shoeboxes contain small personal items, and each shoebox is an opportunity to show God’s love.
– A musical group that visits local long-term care residences and retirement homes in the community to share their gift of music with the residents.
– Senior/home visiting, counseling/crisis/referral, welcoming visitors.
– Several outside community groups use space in our building to gather together during the week.

Other Programs
Many other programs are supported through parish donations, including FaithWorks, the annual appeal of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto. Since 1996, FaithWorks has provided more than $24 million to Anglican-affiliated ministries offering help and hope to people in need throughout south-central Ontario and around the world.
We use Donarius® church management software to track our parish members’ donations to St. Thomas à Becket and to print tax receipts at year end that meet CRA requirements.
